Lent & Easter 2026

Please find below our events for Lent, Holy Week, and Easter. You are most welcome to them all!

Lent is a season where Christians are encouraged to focus on prayer, fasting and generosity to others, inspired by Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights.

Holy Week concludes the season of Lent, focusing on the events which led Jesus Christ to be executed. We journey together through this holy season of Christ’s ‘Passion’ (which comes from the Latin passio, meaning ‘to suffer’). The conclusion (Maundy Thursday through to Easter Sunday) is traditionally called the ‘Triduum’ (meaning ‘three days’).

The season of Easter begins with Easter Sunday, the day Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, the ultimate victory of life over death. Alongside Christmas, it is one of the Church’s principal festivals where - in contrast to the penitential season of Lent - feasting and celebration is encouraged!
